Titanic

The Hartt School

Directed / Choreographed by Kyle Brand
Story and Book by Peter Stone
Music and Lyrics by Maury Yeston

FEATURED REVIEW

"Kyle pulled double duty, staging this Maury Yeston epic with thirty-six college students. Using the lush score & descriptive lyrics, Brand's strengths in movement-forward expression and musicality more than equipped him to honor those who took that fateful journey across the Atlantic."

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

This musical is based on numerous actual historical characters aboard Titanic, and focuses on their dreams, hopes and aspirations – as the story of the launching, the collision with the iceberg, and the sinking is played out against the background of the rigid class-distinctions of the Edwardian Age.

Unaware of the fate that awaits them, the Third Class immigrants dream of a better life in America, the newly-enfranchised Second Class dream of achieving the lifestyles of the rich and famous, and the millionaire-Barons of the First Class dream of their hegemony lasting forever.
